Suggested itinerary

Day 1

Arrive Paris and depart for Giverny to visit Claude Monet's house and garden where the impressionnist painter lived and worked for years.

Day 2

Guided tour of Rouen with its 4^th century cathedral and the Joan of Arc museum. Then visit the Jumièges' abbey and Saint-Wandrille one on the Seine river.

Day 3

Stroll through the old town of Honfleur, a picturesque port where artists sketch daily and see the Normandy Bridge. Visit a Calvados distillery followed by a guided tour of a 16th century Norman Manor house.

Day 4

Visit Caen Memorial museum for Peace covering the events of the leading up to the second World War, the war years, later conflicts and Nobel Peace Prize winners. Excursion to the D-Day Beaches : Arromanches and its artificial port, the American cemetery and the Pointe du Hoc, all reminders of what began on the 6^th June 1944.

Day 5

Two hours guided tour of Caen : the city center, the Abbaye aux Dames, the pedestrian streets, the castle, the town hall followed by a visit the Abbaye aux Hommes. Transfer to Paris airport.
